Host a Tennessee Missing Children’s Day Event in Your Community

Bring awareness, build community, and help bring missing children home.

Why Host a TMCD Event?

Every year on March 4th, Tennessee honors the children who are still missing, and the families who are still waiting. This date marks the disappearance of Bethany Markowski in 2001, a case that remains unsolved over two decades later.

By hosting a Tennessee Missing Children’s Day (TMCD) event in your city, you’re helping:
✅ Raise awareness about active missing child cases in our state
✅ Offer support and solidarity to affected families
✅ Educate your local community on child safety and prevention
✅ Keep pressure on unsolved investigations

What Kind of Events Can I Host?

Here are a few ideas — but you can make it your own:

  • Candlelight vigil in a local park or church
  • Awareness walk with missing child posters
  • Table or booth at a local farmers market or community fair
  • Classroom presentation or school safety day
  • Social media campaign tied to your hometown
  • Community art installation (e.g. “Empty Shoes” display)

Big or small, every event makes a difference.
